1985 Toyota Tercel bumping noise was bearing...

Mar 17, 2008 2 Replies

Odd that it stopped making noise when I steered to the right; the bearing had to be spinning still!

I was informed that the axle came with a new CV joint attached.

It's the best thing to happen to a car to have a lot of things fixed trying to fix something else.

Thanks very much for your information, suggestions and advice.

Ya, mon, the CV joint is part of the axle assy!

You can repair the CV joint by itself, but it's a PITA!

Good you found the noise, tho...

Well, as long as the problem is solved then it's fine.

However, I do see halfshafts and bearings being sold separately.

just FYI, FWIW.
