2003 Corolla Ce, 23 K miles

Can this car's oil be changed at home while parked, getting under the car, in other words? Want to do this myself to save money, but have not looked under the car yet. And, if so, where do you bring the old oil? to any gas station? And same question for transmission fluid too, I guess.

If you mean crawling under the car without lifting it, then the answer depends on how skinny you are.

You can purchase ramps (tricky to drive on and off), or a jack and jack stands. NEVER get under a car supported only by a jack!!!!! If you use a jack, always use jack stands as a backup.

While you are at it, invest in a 14 mm wrench and an oil filter wrench.

Most towns in the U.S. have designated oil recycling facilities. Some gas stations and service facilities will accept used oil, especially the ones that have waste oil heaters.

The same is true of transmission fluid, however, check your owner's manual before changing transmission fluid because I believe the Corolla's transmission takes special fluid and it has a very long life.
