2004 Sienna OBD II problem

Mar 26, 2007 2 Replies

I recently bought an Actron CP9125 code scanner to work with my 2 cars including my 2004 Sienna. The scanner works on one car, but not on the Sienna. The only response I get is "no link". I tried it on a friends '04 Sienna and got the same result so I doubt the trouble is with my car. Since the scanner works on one car (a Ford) and not on either of

2 Siennas I'm thinking the scanner has trouble talking to this particular model. Has anyone had success using this scanner on an '04 Sienna?

The whole purpose of the OBD II standard was to make code readers and scan tools universal for all vehicles. When you plug the code reader into the test port under the dashboard, make sure the ignition is off and the plug is pushed in all the way. Some plugs feel like they are connected when they are actually not pushed in all the way. After the reader is properly plugged in, turn the ignition key to the on position (not accessory) without starting the engine.

Suggest going to the vendors website at the link below, they have a statement about getting the error code. Or drop them an email/call.
