Perfect timing - the 2003's and 2004's are going to start hitting the lots as they come off lease, and as people pay off their loans and get the itch to trade in for a New Car. Go find a Matrix AWD Wagon.

The only big thing to watch for is that the maintenance records are complete. Certain Toyota V6 models are prone to getting oil sludging if the engine maintenance was never done, or they tried stretching them to 15,000 miles or more between oil changes. And leased cars are the ones you really need to check thoroughly, the lessees won't spend a nickel more than they have to - "It's Not My Car."

Hint: Buy it as a Toyota Certified Used Car from a dealer, and you get warranty protections against just this problem. The dealers are supposed to check them before putting the car out as a Certified.

Sounds cool, but does it have as much hatch space in the back, without the seats down, as my 93 Corolla wagon does? Looks a bit smaller back there.
