Never mind too much what Geoff likes or dislikes. He's a legend in his own mind and suffers from bi-polar. Of course as you can see in his later post he enjoys employing his manic stage to get back at you for disagreeing with him. A little lithium would help but I'm not sure he's ready to give up the on and off switch.

Your "formidable rhetorical prowess?" With that comment, you could cause "the laugh heard 'round the world."
Your rhetoric won't overpower the fact that you have no say, whatever, in whether or not mark_digital's dentist provides "Playboy" but chains the magazines to the table, provides "The Watchtower" tracts and encourages takeaways or lets his valued clients take home auto magazines which they have not yet finished.
Now, if you happen to waddle in to your own dentist's office and are subjected to a lengthy wait but find that they let the last "Highlights for Children" escape and you therefore have nothing to read, then you should feel free to piss and moan about the situation and/or leave and find a dentist who arranges his office more to your liking.

It's a private matter between the detnist and the patient and none of your business. Offering your opinion in this case, and calling someone an "inconsiderate lout," is offensive.

Yupperdoodle, that's a-what I said. And I stand by it.
Anything that comes up for discussion in an open forum such as this is my business, should I choose to make it so. It would be inap- propriate for me to actually try and control what the dentist allows and what his patients do. But expressing an opinion is hardly that.
And since I don't even know the name of the dentist or where he practices, how could I possibly attempt to influence what goes on in his waiting room one way or another?
As I recall, you're not the original poster, so you're not a patient of this dentist, either. And yet, you get to have an opinion on the matter and I don't. How do you justify that?
Wherever did you get this crazy idea that I care in the least what you find "offensive?" As fas as I'm concerned, your being offended is a feauture, not a bug.
