If the Mechanic/Technician Said RIGH SIDE ?

Is that meant to mean the passenger's side ?

Is there any standard way of referencing the rightside/passenger's side and leftside/driver's side ?

Right side is passenger side.

The reference is always from the position the driver is sitting in looking forward (it is the same from the back of the car or truck looking forward).

"Passenger" or "driver" depends on whether the car is right-hand or left-hand drive.

The convention is always from the passenger compartment, facing forward. In the U.S., "right" side is the passenger side.
