ny prius battery - 10yr/150k miles?

A vehicle with CA emissions (as vehicles sold in CT, NY, MA, ME, RI, NH, NJ, VT also have) has a 10 year/150K mile emissions warranty. In other words, you can stay in CT and get the same emissions warranty as NY. Check your warranty manual to make sure that the battery is covered by the emissions warranty if that is important to you.

The Toyota Prius is 50-state certified (so it's the same Prius with low AT-PZEV/SULEV emissions no matter where you buy it). The difference in the warranty notices is that it must be "primarily owned and operated" in a CA-emissions state.

Ask to see the "2007 Toyota Prius Owner's Warranty Information" booklet (which would be given to you when you purchase the vehicle, and it should be Prius-specific and not generic to all Toyotas). Under "New Vehicle Limited Warranty," Hybrid Vehicle System (which includes the hybrid battery) is listed as 96 months/100,000 miles. Under "Emission Control Warranty," "California(*)," the Hybrid Battery Pack itself is listed as 120 months/150,000 miles. There should be a note for the * stating which states have adopted the CA emissions.

It looks like I could have bought the car in CT and still had the 150k warranty? The CT salesman 100k so that's why I bought it in NY.

I think you should email toyota (toyota.com has an email address for costumer care) as well as the dealer in CT, who told you that the longer warranty doesn't apply. Apparently, Toyota needs to do a better job of communicating with the dealers, and the CT dealer needs to learn the facts.
