(OT:) If the Earth is heating up, why am I freezing my @$$ off?

Scratch that, it was supposed to be FIVE years, starting in 2002.

Its not really that simple... I mean, I respect your opinions on global warming but the earth could warm 4 degrees and there could be several nights in the summer that are still chilly. The weather could bring snow in April or September still... The effects are mostly things that we dont think of. Things that depend on the long term steadieness of the weather and climate.

Granted the earth is always changing and has been since it was formed either by God or an anomaly.

However, if all the ice on Greenland were to melt then all costal cities would be gone and in some cases, some countries would be flooded.

There is a long term effect.

None of us can deny that 125 glaciers in glacier national park melted in 100 years, leaving only 25 left (which are predicted to be gone by the end of this century)

The earth is heating up regardless if it is the sun or un-naturally released greenhouse gasses.

A couple of days ago, we had HIGH temps in the 70's - now, this is NOT what happens here in the summer Our local media hasn't said but my guess is that was a record low high temp for the day. Last week we had lows higher than that and 113 for a record high. Now the forecase is to not hit triple digits for a week or more.

This is in Redding, Ca I am talking about, we can get spells of over 110-115 for a week or more and over 100 for most days in July/August most years.

When you get older you are more susceptible. Also, it would help if you laid off the alcohol while driving.

The earth is warming and even if it were to warm 4 degrees doesnt mean you wont have a string of weeks in the summer where its cool at night, and could you tell the difference between 80 and 84? You might not be able to but glaciers and ice caps can...

As much as I hate Al Gore, I also hate when the other side comes up with something just as illogical to combat what he says like "Man, I sure wish we could have some global warming up here in Wyomin'... sure is cold..."

Well, it kind of is.

Something is happening, and historical evidence showed it happens all the time. Man, or no.

It seems to have reached a zenith in 2002 or 2003. All the summers since then have been cooler. And the winters have had the most snow since records were kept.

In 2002 or 3 we had something like 5 'heat waves'. Last year we had 3. So far this year we've had one.

I think it has more to do with thumbing your nose at Al Global Warming...
