OT - The Army sounds off
I think this entire piece is very telling of the media. While the media has a responsibility to get the news out, they also hurt wartime efforts. The first bit of negative news is the snowflake before the snowball when it comes to fighting the enemy. The enemy feeds off of it and so the snow ball starts rolling. What the general said is no shock because our resolve has been a failure.
As I said before. This war was A FAILURE when we had our own country men standing infront of Saddam hideouts before the first bombs dropped.
But news coverage for the first 1-2 years of the war was highly positive, even from the so-called "liberal" New York Times, which had been a major cheerleader for going to war (remember Judith Miller?).
The lack of resolve is entirely GW Bush's fault because he has always refused to make the commitments needed to win the war and has always passed the buck to the generals for his mistakes. GW Bush is the anti- great president.
Which retired generals think the war is going well? About the only one I can think of is Gen. Tommy Franks.

Thanks, in great part, to all the namby-pamby spineless hand-wringing LIEbrawl?DEMONrat isolationists who, through their cowardice and treason, aided and abetted the terrorists/insurgents/barbarian Islamic fundamentalists.
standing infront of Saddam
Robert Scheer was fired from the "liberal" LA Times for writing columns against the war. Same for Phil Donahue, fired by MSNBC (from a show with great ratings) three weeks before the invasion. The Times replaced Scheer with three right wing writers (but the right wing parrots still refer to it as "the liberal Times").
Foreign policy propaganda driven by market forces and corporations with a financial stake in the game. (just like the invasion itself)
As for GB and his Milton Friedman ideologue backers the plan *always* was to use "Shock and Awe" to convert Iraq (and the "shocked" residents into adopting a free market system where corporations had all the rights. Staying there is not the result of any miscalculations, it was the plan all along. And a lot of Dems (I suspect) knew it and support it. Building continues on the worlds largest embassy.

So, what is the big deal? If your Godless DEMONrats were doing it, we wouldn't hear squat from you.
I am not sure what news you were watching,b ut just 2 weeks after the war started the "where are the weapons" articles started popping up. Hell... one of NBC's corrospondents, Peter Arnett congradulated Iraq on how well they were doing.
Right, the blame Bush motto. If I wanted to read that hogwash then I would just go to moveon.org.
MSNBC did not have great ratings under Phil Donahue. He was around 600 thousand viewers... That's peanuts.
War going well is such an oxymoron.
War's never go well. They may be or may not be achieving results, but they never go well.
All I hear from Democrats is support for the enemy and the enemy fighting harder everytime they think they can sway public opinion more.
Have you actually read the editorial pages? They start out by setting up the White House administration as the fault of the topic and conclude it by reiterating the White House as the fault of everything else. Here's just one typical example but you can choose any other and still get the same message:
In other words, you still can't find where your wife and kids are hiding.
Even so, he asked you a good question.
Which retired generals think the war is going well?
The answer requires names of people, not opinions.
Every day. Have you read Max Boot? Jonah Goldberg? Niall Ferguson?
Now that they've caught up with public opinion they sometimes challenge the White House, usually back about 10 pages. They were just as bad as NY Times in supporting the Bushwaffe's idiotic war plans. Maybe I should qualify "idiotic." For all the war profiteers its working out fine and the apostles of Milton Friedman hold out hope.
If you want some to follow a link that won't wrap, shorten it. Try:
There is not anything on MSNBC that has even GOOD ratings, let alone great ratings. All of the MSNBC programs have dismal ratings of well below
1,000,000 on average. Same is true of Air America. More viewers watch Bill O'Reilly than ALL of MSNBC programs combined with over 2,000,000 viewers. LOLAlthough many seem not to understand the difference, the Bill O'Reilly show and Phil Donahue's show are NOT news shows, anymore than is 60 Minutes. When it comes to NEWS programs, Fox NEWS has twice as many viewers as CNN NEWS, and CNN NEWS has twice as many viewers as MSNBC NEWS. In some areas of the county Fox NEWS on cable actually beats broadcast local new programs. SOMEBODY apparently likes to hear both sides of what is presented on broadcast news as 'news.'
If one really wants to educate themselves on how 'news; is resented in the major media, watch C-SPAN, if one has cable TV, then watch how the events in Congress on that day are represented on broadcast new stations. The liberal manipulation of the news quickly becomes apparent. ;)

zzzz....zzzz...zzzz...zzzz
We are not surprised that you would sleep when facts are presented. LOL.

When truths flourish, they sleep. No wonder the dims are in such a twist.
When you start presenting facts, rather than your usual long-winded blather, let us know. LOL
Oh, did I doze? Someone must have been rambling on about how evil every outlet except the sacred, unbiased Fox Noise is.
