Hello everyone. Hope you're well. I need your help. When I start my 1996 Corolla up in the morning or after it's been been sitting for a while, there's a high screeching noise that goes on for a little while and eventually fades out. It lasts for about 15 seconds on a good day and about a minute on a bad. and sometimes when I make turns the noise will come back. Does anyone know what this is?

Probably just your drive belt. Make sure yours is tensioned properly. If that doesn't work, get a new one and your quiet startups will return. jor
Drive belt is probably glazed (burnt) from slipping and the pullies brightly polished. Toss old belt, rough up pulley surface with 120 sand paper, and replace with new pulley --- properly tension it.
