Sienna CE 2006 - Electronic Devices - problem.

Does the Sienna CE 2006 - have an Electronic Devices problem?

On page 117 of Owner's Manual it mentions two-way radios players etc. without consulting your dealer.

I may have a CB, radar detector or a converter with a TV etc.

They also mention repairs in the same box (unrelated?) - on or near the front seat belt pretensioning assemblies. The diagram (page 116) of the locations of all that stuff is unclear. Does this mean storing things under or around front seats is a no - no?

No.

An unmodified CB radio does not generate enough power to interfere with the electronic devices in most vehicles. Just do not mount the CB or 2-way radio right next to any electronic control units (ECU). Most ECU's are mounted under the dashboard or in the front kick panels so if you do not attach the 2-way radios inside the dashboard or on the kick panels, you will be OK. 6 inches away should be far enough.

Inverters, TVs, DVD players, laptops, etc. are unlikely to have any effect on ECU's.

I believe the seat belt pre-tensioners are mounted in the B-pillar between the front and side doors. Storing stuff under or around the front seats is not a problem, other then possibly having the stuff slide forward and interfere with the operation of the brake and accelerator pedals. If you take a look at the tracks for the front seats, they may be elevated a few inches to provide toe room for people sitting behind the front seats. Also, there may be ductwork under the front seats to provide heated air to the back seat passengers, so you want to make sure that anything you put under the front seats doesn't interfere with the ductwork.
