Supra Tranny, Again. Need an MDT or a Service Rep here! ;)

I can't remember. I think one is normally open and the other normally closed; seems to me I saw that somewhere.

But I can get another tranny for $50; considereing the solednoids are #135 each that's a good deal. The guy really is Supraman, he works at Toy Gfld and has had a pile of them. At one time he owned 3 at once.

But I also have a handle on one, same color exterior for $300 with a manual tranny, which leads me to my next question: I know I'll have to do the pedals, the cylinders and the plumbing, but is the manual electronically controlled also? Obviously, I'll have (or SHOULD have) all the control boxes in the donor car.

That's what I mean about the Japanese doing research before coming up with acronyms!

But I did notice on a couple of my Toys, the ECUs are marked AT or MT, so I wonder if the same applies...

An ECU for AT has slightly different functions than for MT. For example, the speed sensor in a manual transmission doesn't affect shifts like it does in an AT, and I think the fuel cut works a little differently for a car with a manual transmission to reduce the jerkiness when lifting your foot off the throttle to shift. Also, the ECU for an automatic transmission talks to the engine ECU, where the ECU for a manual transmission doesn't have the AT ECU to talk to :-(
