The current Camry is a piece of shit.

For those of you who want the famed Toyota hybrid synergy drive and want what we've all come to expect from a real car, you'll have to pony up to the Avalon Hybrid. Nice car.

In what way?

The interior is shit. The seats are shit. The $100 "leather" package is about ten square inches of leather spread along the edges of the seat. The seats are short and unusupportive, and it's uncomfortable as hell to drive. The dashboard is as plain as day, and looks like a base Kia from years ago.

This coming from a guy who got a 2007 Prius brand new, sight unseen, without even having sat in one let alone driven one, and who thinks it's very comfortable.

Toyota is still selling $18,000 Camrys to the public; the problem is, they've had to cheapen the car WAY down to hold that price.

The Avalon is the car the Camry was years ago.

Heh. I'll have to go check one out. A friend of mine was raving about how nice they were inside, like a luxury car. Consider, though, that he's been driving a Ford Ranger with roll-up windows...

Hard to imagine what they are doing since the non-SE is already essentially a luxury car.
