Looking at the year ahead, there's no stopping Toyota. Analysts say

2007 could be the year the Japanese manufacturer surpasses General Motors Corp. as the world's No. 1 automaker in vehicle sales.

It's sad but true.

GM needs to step their game up

GM might start on the road back if they'd start designing cars that appear in any way new. Their designs seem to indicate that they're stuck in 1998. Look at the Buick line for example...Whether they call them Lacross or whatever, they're still clones of the old Regal/Le Sabre. GM used to make rather exciting looking cars, but now they all seem to be warmed over models from a decade ago.

GM knew what they needed to do 20 years ago, but didnt. and no, its not totally a UAW problem. japanese workers have a high standard of living also, YET toyota still makes enough profit off the yaris and scion lines it can afford to build and ship em, and still make money!
