Toyota Hilux

Hi. Can anyone explain the pros and con of the 2wd & 4wd, super unleaded fuel - gas?

4WD lets you get twice as stuck, and super unleaded lets you take a flying jump.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Perhaps if the question was a little less general?

Yes...I had a 4X4 truck and learned to always drive it in 2WD until I got stuck in mud/snow...THEN dump it into 4WD, BACK OUT and go home..."up here for thinking...down there for dancing" :)

The description 4WD I read somewhere was a vehicle that (1) got stuck farther in the woods than you would with a 2WD; (2) got stuck in an area that couldn't be reached by a tow truck.

The #1 cause of truck accidents: "A deer jumped out in front of the truck!"

#2 cause: "I had to bend over to pick up the full beer can I dropped when the deer jumped out in front of the truck"

Hi. I am considering on buying a Toyota Hilux. But 4wd or V6's are more expensive to repair than a sedan.

You know, I've had an 82 Datsun 4x4 since 83, and repair costs have been "normal". I maintain all my vehicles and look after issues before they become big problems. I don't think my 4x4 has cost me any more than a 2 wd would have cost. Granted, I haven't had to repair a transfer cast or front axels, but after over 20 years of use, I'm very happy with my choice of a

4wd vehicle. Your fuel costs may be a bit more with the V6 and 4x4, but if you have a need for 4wd or V6 torque, then that is the slight increase in cost you pay. You should consider the initial increase in $$$ rather than maintenance. IMO
