Toyota RAV4 OE Oil Filter vs Toyota RAV4 Replacement Oil Filter

I have cut open the OE Toyota filter removed from a new RAV4 and a Toyota replacement filter for the same engine and posted the pictures at: was surprised by the cheap looking construction of the genuine Toyota replacement filter (particularly compared to the elaborate OE filter). I have to assume the OE filter was some sort of speacial "break in" filter. Either that or the replacement filter is just junk.Ed White
