Checked the wreckers?

Be helpful if we knew where you were. I could give you sources in Afghanistan, but they might not be of much use.

No local junkyard would have anything that old. I have called about a dozen Toyota junk dealers that i found from a list on the net all around the US and no one has a car that old. Will continue making calls from the list but thought i would post here.

What color? I have an '83 4WD wagon going to the scrap yard. Anything you want. The interior is tan. Get back to me QUICK!

BTW, has a great engine, tranny but the body is fair. If you want it come get it. I'll get $185 from scrap, I'd rather see it running. $100 w/ Ford escort alloys (they fit well) and Mastercraft GlacierGrip tires.

If not, let me know what you need. I'd rather help someone than just crush it.

Oh, BTW the seats are brown and tan checks and are IMMACULATE. They're those weird ones they put in the 4WD models w/the handles.

Thanks so much. I never thought of interior color. I have a black interior.

Possibly interested in those wheels. Where are you located? Probably too far for me to drive for wheels.

What is an alternative for a radio bezel? Its just a little 3"X10" plate with two screws. I was thinking of using black plexiglass.

Any other ideas?

I was also thinking since im trying to keep the car mostly stock to put the original radio in and mount an additional. What does anyone think of that?

Get hachi's, then spray it with Kylon Fusion black plastic paint. Clean the surface well first to get any oils or greases off!

What's hachi?

Hachi is short for Hachiroku, a frequent poster here.

Or the Japanese pronunciation for the police detective duo, Sutahski and Hachi.

Hachi, sorry for the confusion.

I would love to get your radio bezel. The '82s and '83s are a different styling but maybe i can make it fit. Please email me at:

I did the black plexiglass thing in my 'hachiroku'. ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Good thing they gave me plenty! Hardest damn thing I ever tried to work with...almost...almost...just one more....SNAP!!!!!!

It wasn't until last year someone told me, drill or cut SLOWLY and keep it COOL...water or AC blowing directly on it. I did get it made and it looks GOOD.

I am in MA. The car is a wagon, 4WD. Six speed (you heard right...) manual tranny. Runs like a top, just too rusty for me to put the effort into again. Actually is repairable fairly cheap; I have an AWD Caravan better suited to my purposes. Excellent winter beater. Brand new exhaust. BUT! there may be someone at work interested in it...I'll keep you posted.
