FINALLY got that leaky tank out of the Supra.
Took 4 hours under a lift, 1.5 of that spent by having to scrounge a fitting for the High Pressure fuel line.
We could NOT get it apart and had to cut it. Luckily, even though the line from the fuel pump was rusty looking, it stayed intact.
Had to buy a fuel line from a parts store for a Camry, cut it an put a bulge in it, took a high pressure line from a Suby and mated the two together.
I can't even believe where they put the fuel filter on this car! It is above the rear axle, and it looks like the easiset way to replace it is...to pull the tank!!!
Someone had been in there before...the filter was tie-wrapped in place. We tired to undo the banjo bolt, that would have given us the freedom we needed without cutting, but that wasn't happening, either.
Sure hope I don't have to replace the fuel fiter any time soon. The real shame is that I have on sitting on a shelf in the garage...
