my '02 camry seems to have alot of play in the e-brake handle when i pull uip on it. i'd like to adjust it so i only have to pull it up 4-5 inches instead of almost all the way up. how do i do this??

The cable has to be shorten. Block front wheels and jack up rear just to the point that wheels are off ground. Tranny in natural. Set hand brake at full OFF. The cable adjustment is about half way down the cable under the middle of the car. Turn one rear wheel by hand and adjust cable till the wheel starts to drag. Stop,that's it.Good Luck.
