2011 Camry Shifting quirk

Previous car was a . Recently bought a 2011 Camry

All my previous car incl'd a 2002 Camry, when you were moving and let off the gas the vehicle stayed in hi-gear and there was no sense of transmission breaking.

In the 2011, if going relatively slow it will down shift and I"ll feel definate extra deceleration. Very annoying would prefer to make that choice on my own cause sometime I don't want to slow down, there's just no need to be on the gas.

Asume there's nothing that can done about this?

Probably. Get to the dealership and tell them what is going on. They may well be able to reprogram your tranny. Why it is this way in the first place may be a question to ask. Sometimes when they take the car in for warranty or recall work, the tranny loses programming. Check with them.

Thanks and ur confirming what I thought, that it's not typical on new cars.
