?88 Camry 2.0 liter All Trac.
I also have a problem with the 4 wheel drive system. When I push the button to engage the rear wheels, the system works great, except when I am done, it will not disengage. Suggestions from friends were to: try it on snow, loose gravel, etc. but still wouldn?t disengage. A friend showed me how to disengage it by jerking the car with quick bursts on accelerator pedal, but I don?t like that method--seems likely to cause other problems. I would only use the All Trac system a few times a year, so it is not worth a major repair. I can just use front wheel drive. However, I have checked out several different manuals (including Toyota) and they do not describe how the engage/disengage system works.
Anybody know this system or experience a similar problem?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
