I'm trying to remove the locking nut on the left-hand front hub in order to work on the CV joints, however it is stuck. I've extended the handle of my socket driver with a 3ft steal pipe.in order to undo the nut but it won't budge. In fact the steal pipe is bending. Any ideas on how to remove this nut? It doesn't seem to be rusted just super tight.

First of all, using a cheater pipe is always dangerous because it can over-stress the breaker bar (like the following), and the bar can shatter, causing personal injury. However, if a steel pipe (standard water pipe) bends then the axle nut is probably seized up in your 91. Take it to a mechanic or tire shop and give a tip to have the axle nut loosened using their impact wrench. Then tighten it back up to drive home.
Thanks for the idea, John. It seems like the only option I have left.
And if it has seized up badly the threads on the wheel stud or nut or both may well be damaged. They were on our Corolla. In that case you may need a new wheel stud put in.
