AWD Toyota

When will Toyota come out with AWD in a car? Many years ago Toyota had one. I do not want to buy an SUV.

John, too many people are buying SUV's instead is why. But I suspect with the AWD Seinna, you "might" see an AWD Camry as the powertrain/subframe are the same.

The 2003 Sienna has the AWD. Finally I found a van with AWD option. Before you cheers, hold you breath because it is $5000 more than the regular Sienna. Even the new 2003 Sienna are pity costz...

It's pure market demand. The Camry is available in AWD with 2.4 I-4 engine w/4AT in the Japanese market, as well as Altezza (Lexus I300) AWD with 3.0 I-6 engine w/4AT. Others like Corolla AWD with either 1.5 or 1.8 liter engine, or bB (Scion B or something) also comes in AWD. The Platz (Echo in the U.S.) can also be equipped with AWD. Estima (Previa) also comes with AWD with either 2.4 liter I-4 or 3.0 liter V6 with 4AT. Previa line has been discotinued in U.S., I believe, and replaced by Sienna which is available with AWD.

Some other intersting AWD Toyotas without U.S. equivalents (?):

Crown Majesta AWD, 4 liter V8 w/5AT Crown Royal AWD, 3.0 I-6 w/5AT Crown Estate AWD, 2.5 I-6 w/4AT Progre (sp?) AWD, 2.5 I-6 w/4AT Mark II AWD, 2.0 I-6 or 2.5 I-6 w/4AT Altezza AWD, 2.0 I-6 w/4AT Vista (Camry platform?) AWD, 2.0 I-4 w/4AT Caldina (sp?) GT-Four, 2.0 I-4 turbo w/4AT

Other intersting models from other makes: Nissa Thema (Infiniti Q45) AWD 4.5 liter V8 w/5AT Nissan Skyline Sedan (Infinity I35 body) AWD, 2.5 liter V6 w/5AT Nissan Bluebird Sylphie (Altima) AWD, 1.8 liter I-4 w/4AT Nissan Sunny (Sentra) AWD, 1.5 liter I-4 w/4AT or 5MT Honda Accord AWD, 2.0 I-4 w/5AT Honda Accord Wagon AWD, 2.5 I-4 w/5AT Honda Civic AWD, 1.5 liter I-4 w/4AT Mitsu Galant VR-G, 2.0 liter I-4 w/4AT Mitsu Lancer Wagon AWD, 1.8 liter I-4 w/4AT Mitsu Colt AWD, 1.3 or 1.5 liter I-4 w/CVT Mazda Atenza (Mazda-6) Sportswagon AWD, 2.3 liter I-4 w/5AT Mazda MPV AWD, 2.3 liter I-4 w/4AT etc.
