Having just purchased my first Toyota Camry I noticed I have a small hole on the floor just in front of the drivers seat. It has a grommet around it and is designed that way but I am real curious as to what it is for. This is a 2000 model. Can anyone tell me what this hole is for?

That's for the floormat. Toyota floormats have a locking mechanism that keeps it from sliding around on you or bunching up near the pedals.
That floor mat hook in my 99 Camry just corroded and fell out. The mat stays in place, regardless, though.
