Hole in exhaust related to sputtering?

May 04, 2004 2 Replies

Just wondering if a hole in the front part of the exhaust system could allow enough moisture inside to cause a plug to misfire when it rains. Just trying to figure out why engine misfires on wet days and I have a good sized hole in this part of the exhaust system. Any possibility of a connection? Thanks.

It will allow gas in the car, but your cap, wires, plugs or coil is probably bad

Nope - A cracked distributer cap or bad plug wires --- or both.
