License Plate Lights Inop

Mar 20, 2007 1 Replies

I have a 99 Camry with both license plate lights out. When the replacement bulbs didn't work either, I checked the resistance and the original bulbs were still good. I checked and didn't seem to have voltage to the plugs either. (But I was in a hurry and may not have had a good ground to the VOM meter either.)

I thought it might be a fuse bad, but the fuses I found in the engine compartment and under the left side of the dash (behind the little pull out holder) all seemed good and none were listed specifically for the license plate lights.

Any ideas? All the other lights (brake, tail and turn signals) work fine.

Thanks, Chris

Have you checked the connection between the trunk and the trunk lid ? Usually there is a multi pin molex connector there for the license place light.
