Park my car in garage for a few months - What to do?

Apr 10, 2004 6 Replies

I'll park my 2000 Camry in my garage for a few months. The gas is running too high;-) What do I have to do to take care of it? I also put a lot of heavy stuff in the trunk. Would that cause damage to anything? to tires?

remove the keys close the door watch out for mice

Drive it for thirty minutes at least once a month to circulate fluids, etc. Make sure headlights are turned off at the stalk, not with remote relay. Take the heavy stuff out of the trunk. Potential damage is to springs. If you add pressure, the tires would be fine.

Geeze - worried about gas mileage and you have thetrunk filled with heavy stuff! I would not just park it for months - will cause more damage than the few gas dollars you save. Wait til August and see how much gas is then!
