Re: How do you take apart a headlight assambley?

I'm basing this from my 1989 - I believe the newer cars use a sligthly different bulb - but the technique should be essentially the same.

At the back of the headlight should be a set of wires leading to a socket. There should be a plastic tab that you press to unhook the wires from the headlight bulb base. This may require some wiggling to remove.

Next is a round plastic ring that holds the bulb in place - turn that counter-clockwise to unlock it. Now wiggle on the bulb itself - you are attempting to break a vacuum seal that develops between the bulb and the lens assembly. Finally pull the bulb straight back to remove it.

Installation is the reverse.

I can't figure out how to disassemble a headlight in my Camry (1995). A guy

Did you look at the back of the reflector? ;-)

you dont dissasemble the light, you remove the bulb

Thanks for your input, folks. However, I meant I don't know how to get to the bulb itself. What do I do after opening the hood?

Perhaps it would be best for you to take it to the service station.
