Jason, why hold throttle open, ive never read that on my tester manual or about testing. I would think the opposite as fuel may enter slightly raising pressure. But then maybe that is more accurate?

Mark, the engine is just a compressor. If the throttle is closed (or just cracked open) the intake is attenuated and some reduction in air-volume may occur,..I admit at slow cranking, the intake will probably fill the cylinder even if almost closed,..but that's what the handbook says ie WOT.
