Did you--and do you recommend--switch back to the 13 lb. cap after replacing the radiator?

Believe it or not, the hairline crack re-emerged through the JB Weld patch, though it it still slowing down any coolant leakage fairly well.

I will likely get a new radiator very soon, as it is not worth the risk of failure, and incurred damage to the V-6.

My 1987 Camry also developed cracks in plastic radiator tank. I go a low > pressure cap and used JB Weld to patch cracks. However, new cracks kept forming > and I eventually ordered a new radiator from 800RADIATOR at a very good price. > I expect you will eventually come to the same conclusion.

Glen, I went back to the recommended pressure cap for that model...1987Camry 4 cyl. Believe me, I tried long and hard to stop the cracks. But, I believe the plastic tank degrades over time and just gets worse. As I didn't have a mechanic, I called a couple of places from the yellow pages for the best price. I came across 800RADIATOR who gave me a great price and even found a repair shop in my area to install it at a fair price. The replcement radiator has a steel tank and I am very satisfied. Unfortunately, the A/C compressor recently seized....so the car runs cool...but I ride hot. Marty
