The rear differential is not connected at all to the transmission - but they might have the oil change as part of the "30,000 Mile Service Package", they make a few more dollars on the service. Read your owners manual for the exact gear oil they use.

Before you scream that the transmission is overfilled with fluid, make sure you are checking it right. Confirm it with your Owners Manual, but for 99%+ of cars on the road the procedure is to check the fluid level while parked on level ground, with the transmission warm to operating temperature, in Neutral, and after having just cycled it through all the gears (R,D,2,1) to make sure there is no air in the lines.

Usually not, unless you use Monk the Obsessive Compulsive Mechanic. ;-) They just fill the master cylinder with fresh fluid as they bleed them. You're free to get a toothbrush, a pile of shop towels and soap, and detail the outside of the brake master cylinder and the inside of your engine compartment... Mine are clean, but not sparkling shiny - I just knock off the worst of it with the pressure washer as needed.

Be careful to not contaminate the brake fluid.

Find another dealer and report this one to corporate.

Betcha' $10 that they just added some ATF and gave it back to you.

No... unless they did it as a separate procedure, the diff was not affected by the ATF flush. They take different fluids and are indeed not connected.

I think he's referring to the cap... how can you get fluid into the reservoir without removing it, and how can you remove it without disturbing the dust?
