1990 4x2 efi no power

Father-in-law's 2wd truck has no power. No codes at all from diagnostics.Seems to run like there is no timing advance.Any reasonable suggestions? (22R)

5spd or automatic? Tried cleaning the fuel injectors (at least with Chevron Techron gas additive) and throttle body with cleaner? How old are plugs and wires -- OEM?

Still a bit vague... maybe you need a tune-up.

Maybe a plugged exhaust or cat? Do you hear a hissing sound when you are trying to accelerate?

Do a compression test on the cylinders if below 100 time for rings/valves -- if 140+ and all near that then look for a cloughed catylitic converter.
