I bought a used 2000 4runner about two months ago, and I am having a problem with the rear brakes. On steep inclines or when applying the brakes for an extended stop I am getting a lot of vibration from the rear. If I pull up the hand brake as a test during these same braking scenarios, it has that same vibration, so I am pretty sure it is rear brake related. I have replaced front pad, rear shoes, and turned the rear drums, but the problem persists. Tires are brand new. Let me add that the truck is smooth as silk while driving, with no vibration at any speed. It only vibrates when brakes are applied on long steep hills and at extended stopping distances.
What is the problem?
