2004 Tacoma A/C

May 21, 2005 5 Replies

Finally had to run the A/C on my 04 Tacoma Xtracab Prerunner 4 cylinder 2WD yesterday and noticed it didn't quite match the A/C on my Camry. Is this normal on the Tacoma or should I run it by the dealership.

Thanks Lars

My 99 Tacoma A/C works great. Just as good as my 02 Camry. Just a note: The A/C system should be used 10 minutes monthly to keep the seals from drying up and leaking. Good Luck......

'00 PreRunner XCab with the 2.7L here.

A/C is fine, no complaints here in the sunny SE U.S.

2004 Tacoma Xtracab 4x4 V6 I run my AC daily every day of the year (Hawaii). I would not say it is the best AC in the world but it does the job. Air comes out quite cool but not cold. One thing I really hate about the system is that when I put the directional flow on dash the AC automatically turns on. Even I in Hawaii don't want my AC on at 4:30am on my way to work but I need to keep my window from clouding up. They should have worked an over ride system for that.

The A/C is designed to come on when in the "Defrost" mode. The A/C will dehumidify the cab, which is causing the windows to frost up.
