87 hilux pickup. new ownership what basics should i cover

I am a new owner of a 87 hilux pickup. but since this is my first ever car i havent a clue what i should be looking out for.

it starts and runs so thats a good start. what should i be checking to keep it running well? change plugs etc etc?
