my 90 toyota 4runner has to crank for about 30 secs first thing in the morning before it will start. It will run ruff for a minute or two then it will smooth out and run fine. For the rest of the day it will start fine until you let it sit for like 8 hour or more
hard to start first thing in morning

What engine? Check the cold start injector and the rest of the cold start sensors and valves:

Leaking injectors or fuel pump that doesn't keep pressure in system. You can get the injectors checked and recalibrated -- think is DOA racing that does it.
