hi! I am new at this, and i was wondering if anyone knows how to/if its possible to change my 99 toyota rav4 radio antenna? I unscrewed the antenna cap, but i could not get the old antenna out of what seemed to be a white tube. any suggestions? thanks
If you're trying to swap out a broken factory antenna, go to the dealer to buy the replacement mast. Someone there (either the parts guy or a mechanic) will be able to give you the Secret Clue as to how to get the old one out and the new one in - probably a spring clip or a nut screwed to the threaded end of the mast that keeps it from sliding out.
There are some designs that are not repairable and require the whole antenna to be swapped out as a complete unit, and I don't know if yours is one of them. But the parts counter man should know.
