Motor Trend reported this month ( I think ) that the 04' Tacomas will be unchanged except for available traction control and some type of "smart"
4wd that senses how much power to send to the most needed wheels. The major redesign will be the 05' model released mid 04". Glad I got an 03' 4x4 without all the electronic 4 wheel crap to mess up down the road. Just my $.02. Mastiffautomatic slip detection on all 4 wheels? sounds like a rally car.

At one point, I had heard that they were going to offer a 5.x litre V8 in the Tundra at some point, and the Sequoia. Anybody hear anything about this lately?

I don't know about a larger V8, but I've been seeing alot of chatter about a "heavy duty" 3/4 ton Tundra coming out to compete with the Chevy HDs and the F-250s. I'm even hearing of a possible Diesel option. Something to think about though since you mentioned it. With Toyota entering the Nascar Truck Series next year, they are having to create an all new pushrod V8 as per Nascar regulation. Now, isn't there also a regulation that says the manufacturer must have the engine be based from a consumer available production engine? Maybe there is a bigger V8 coming after all. Just my $.02. Well, here is the skinny. They will be building a truck that will compare to the F 350, I dont know if they mean both size and power, but I assume yes. We were told we have to upgrade our hoist to hold 10,000 lbs. I dont know if this is still going to be called a Tundra or what. I dont expect to see it in 04, but maybe 05 or an 05 with an earyly intro, ie 04 1/2. Oh,t he Tundra will get a larger engine, its going to be a
5.2 liter.
Damn, I was hoping T0Y0T/\ would match Nissan's. Any rating infos for the 5.2L?
