The malfunction indicator lamp (engine light) in my 2002 Rav4 came on yesterday. I checked and the gas cap was on tight. I am on vacation and I have been doing a lot of low-speed driving on dusty gravel roads. I would like to avoid the time and cost of a trip to the dealership at least until I get home. Can anyone suggest the source of the engine light?
The vehicle seems to be running properly and all of the fluid levels look good.
