drop it 2" and put on some nice fatty tires with some 17" rims, get a turbo installed. i had a 98' with 2.4L and with the relativiely small diameter tires i could get them to chirp over any white lines in the street while on the gas through 3rd gear, for such a small truck the thing was fast....
