snipped-for-privacy@webtv.net (Lady Buckeye) found these unused words:

Which models, what years, for what reason?

Lots of 'recalls' ... probably different from yours.

I get offers for my 86 PU all the time, by Mexicans looking for a work truck. Usually $1500. I think it's a way for the dealership to get you to buy a car from them. Think of it as a trade-in.

I know what you're saying, but this is different.

There was a rust issue with certain year Tacomas, late 90's to early '00's. Toyota, the manufacturer, not the "Toyota" people incorrectly refer to the independent dealership as, is offering a genuine check towards a new truck. The information went directly from _TOYOTA_ (the mfg, not the lighted sign) to registered owners of affected trucks. The buyer doesn't have to mention it up front, it's perfectly good with buying services, etc... there are no other strings attached, and the program has been publicized.

I think you're thinking of those stupid "Your car has never been worth more!" "Factory Buy Back" come-on programs run by dealers of all brands. Those _are_ lame.

from 95-00 toyota tacoma trucks. problems with the frames

Pfft...I'll take $5000 if someone offered, but I'm gonna run this truck into the ground, than take a measly $1500.
