Toyota's Alarm system VIP R3200 on a FJ Cruiser?

Nov 19, 2006 2 Replies

Does any one know exactly was it does as opposed to the standard protection that comes with a FJCruiser? I've asked a number of salesman at Toyota dealerships and nobody knows for sure. They contradict each other... Help would be appreciated...

If you living somewhere where you *HAVE TO HAVE* an alarm system, you might consider moving. Beyond that, locks are only to keep "honest" people honest, and alarms are nothing more than noise makers that annoy folks in the middle of the night.

From the Toyota web site:

"Protects your vehicle against theft while providing a number of convenient features, including proximity sensor, rolling code, remote arm/disarm, remote lock/unlock, panic mode, and more. Deductible may be reimbursed if the vehicle is stolen*".

There appear to be several versions of the 3200 available on a variety of models.
