What type of Grease do you use on the Universal Joints .

The kind that goes into a grease gun. Personally, I use Caterpillar brand white lithuim complex formula. Another tube that I have, lists for ingredients Petroleum grease SECRET FORMULA. GO figure someone has a "secret" formula for petroleum grease.

I like a top-quality moly grease, but not the 5% moly heavy duty grease used by front end loader pins, etc.

The moly grease is required in the double cardan joint that looks like two u-joints together. The base is usually lithium or lithium complex, although I use an aluminum complex base moly grease which is compatible with the lithium base greases and is more waterproof. The oil in the grease can be either synthetic or conventional. (Grease is a mixture of a base (thickener), oil, and additives like moly, graphite, teflon (OK in grease, no-no in engine oil), dye).
