Ok, I know it sounds weird - but where does the headlight switch go on the dash? The previous owner has a toggle switch which turns on ALL the lights in the middle of the dash. I know that's not right. Mine also has the rear defrosters, but no switch for that either...
If anyone would send me pics or where to look - would be appreciated. I haven't worked on a Bug in over 20 years...

Very cool, found lots of good info. The previous owner had modified the left dash panel to accept a tach, oil pressure and oil temp gauges. It was done very neatly (looks almost factory), but then with the toggle, thought maybe the headlight switch went away with the modified panel. Well, at least the toggle is in the correct spot! I'll have to get the correct switch for the lights.
Now that I know where the rear defroster is, I'll have to try that.
