74 Super and 944 front discs

Hi all,

There is a 1979 Porsche 944 in the local auto-wrecker. It has front disk brakes, and the suspension looks very much like the 74 super front end. Does anybody know if these spindles are interchangeable? I would really like to upgrade to front discs on my bug.

I've seen a page about the exact conversion of the 944 brakes, but now I cant remember where. Probably the guys in germanlook can direct you better:

and click on the arrow next to the tech feature of the day that says "more tech" and it will bring up a window with a bunch of tech articles, several of which contain information on

944 brake upgrades. I think you're in luck, becuase I do think the spindles are interchangeable. Better check first! Good luck! ~Anthony

I believe my bf has a 944 disk brakes on his 73 super beetle convertible. I'll ask him tonight how much of a bitch it was.
