Battery draining

Hi guys/gals. There is something weird going on on my brazilian standard. The battery keeps dying, whenever I park the car for 2 or more days, when I come back, the batt is dead. I already tried with another batt, but it just does the same, where is the energy going? the radio is off, the lights are off. Do I have goblins?

Today, while setting the timing with my new toy (timing light/engine analyzer), I received an electric shock just by touching the rear bumper with my right hand and the floor with my left. Is this normal? It was a sudden and hard shock, just like when you touch a spark plug cable with the engine on. Is this where the leak is?

TIA, Karls

The shock you received was due to the tires insulating the car from the floor. Would not be the cause of the draining.

Try this: Leave the car sitting for 2 days.....with the battery cables *removed*. See if it still drains.

If you have a meter with a milliamp scale, you can test by removing the + battery cable (leave ground cable connected). Then, connect the meter from the cable you removed to the battery + post. With everything turned off, the meter should read less than ~20 milliamp. If more, disconnect wires/fuses until the reading goes down.

Perfect, I'll try that on the weekend.

Thanks a lot. Karls
