My buddy just bought a 70 beetle and theres some thin wierd with the brake peddel it comes up why higher then the clutch peddle and has about three inches of free play be for it starts to press on the master any one have an idea whats wrongh
The top travel for the pedal is controlled by a very small sheet metal bracket or "stop plate" which is bolted to the floor under the pedal shaft. See if the plate has rusted off or is loose.
