So can anyone tell me what the little light mounted in heavy rubber is for mounted under the dash. It has 2 wires going into the trunk area. Also the passenger seat has a bunch of wires coming out of it. Thanks, Pete

1) The "electric eye" is really a spotlight. Yes!! Was required by law to illuminate the heater levers!! I kid you not. 2) The loose wires under the seat were left over from the seat belt warning/interlock. There was a sensor in the seat to tell when someone sat in it!!
There are also loose wires under the back seat left over from the dealer diagnostics. See my web site for: "What is this plug in my engine bay?"

Thought that was the lighted Shift lever law. A regulation favorable to the mostly automatic American cars of the time. Lyndon B Labor Union Mob conspiracy thing. $.02
