Headliner padding substitues

Jute (Yute) padding (don't know how to spell it, so correct me please)

I used old carpet underlay (the 1/4" thick brown stuff), but it's finding the stuff. You could use new carpet underlay and stick it bumpy side up. You can buy sound insulation material from many auto supply shops, as that is one of the jobs of what is on there, that and heat insulation.

Hi,

Went down to carpet store on local industrial estate.

Was going to ask for Felt underlay (which is ike the afore mentioned Jute stuff)

Got there too late and they were closed.

But turned out ok, there were offcuts left in a skip.

So nabbed them, got about 1.5 square meters.

Should be enough, even if not, can always pop back after 5 another day and pick up some more.

Thought I'd share, as might help someone else out.
