Is TMI really that bad???

Oct 04, 2003 4 Replies

I bought a carpet kit, a headliner, a padding kit and a conv. top from TMI ( for my KG cabrio). None have directions except for the padding kit, which are vague at best. The best part is I called TMI and asked for tech help. The guy told me to take it to a place that installs tops. What the &%^%$$%!!!!! Has anyone had better luck with other companies, like Sewfine?

I'm taking pictures of everything I'm doing. Maybe I'll sell them to TMI. Maybe I'll make a page so others can get some help from it.

has a video that outlines the interior installation. Or maybe the Bug-Me videos. TMI and Sewfine don't sell their products outright, but through distributors. Maybe they should give more detailed instructions, but apparently they rely on others to do it.

Besides the videos, does anyone have 'written' instructions, that work??

VW Trends did several articles on various interior refits. Check out

do a search there on interior or seats or carpets

Try looking at the '57 Resto pages at

John's got a lot of good info and pics for all stages of restoration. Especially the headliner.
